The process of blood clotting requires a number of important factors, and Maltese-dogs suffering from von Willebrand's disease have a deficiency of von Willebrand's factor necessary for the normal clotting of blood. It is hereditary diseaseof the blood that is characterized by period of impulsive bleeding similar to haemophilia. It happens due to the number of irregularities of the von Willebrand issues, a glycoprotein compulsory for normal platelet function. Autosomal dominant trait is hereditary disease that is the most common form of Willebrand’s disease. Von Willebrand's disease does not bleed unexpectedly in many Maltese-dogs usually bleeding start from the any physical wound or physical minor wound in which the surface of the skin or a mucous membrane is worn away by rubbing or scraping. Commonly it is observed by the veterinarians and dogs doctors during the vaccinations and drug therapy. Normally flow of blood started from the mucous membranes like gums,skin between the toes and skin of the vulva also skin of the penis of Maltese-dogs. Young and bigger dogs seriously affected y this disease because they have much weight and larger body as compare to the small Maltese-dogs and puppies. Mostly Cardiovascular organs are affected by this disease which is very sensitive and related to the heart.
